WELCOME! ~ A LITTLE ABOUT THIS BLOG...

For many years, I have collected and continue to collect quotes, thoughts, & stories. It gives me the opportunity to ponder, to meditate, and be inspired to greater heights. I have a passion for life, for my religion, for the goodness of life. Through all this, it has uplifted my soul, & made me stronger emotionally & spiritually.

I thought I would share with you, as well as my own random thoughts, testimony builders, a few funnies and so forth to also give you the same opportunity.

I do hope that you enjoy this blog... and feel free to comment ~ preferably positive thoughts, as this is what this blog is all about.

The Family is Eternal

"The family is eternal. Love must be nurtured. It must be spoken. We must put away our pride, our haughtiness, our shyness, our misunderstandings, and with humility say, "I love you. Is there something I can do to help you?" You can never be completely happy under any other circumstances."

Email : What Would Jesus Do?

The light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, topping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration, as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.

As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.

He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a holding cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, ''I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk, so naturally....I assumed you had stolen the car.''

Priceless.

Meridian Magazine :: Spiritual Journeys: Standing on Holy Ground

Love this article, because I simply love the temple - it is such a beautiful & holy place to be. And I love going to the temple, I love the spiritual refuge that it gives from the worldly storm that is very abundantly around us each day. I love the spiritual strength I gain each time I go... So this article was just something that I loved because of what I love and because it also makes me more aware or even just give me a reminder of what I need to do to make my visit to the temple that more holy.

Sorting a Box of Quotes & Stories

In trying to clean out the office closet today, I have come to realize that I really need to do the goal I set out to accomplish several months ago that hasn't remotely been touched. I have a box of quotes, stories, thoughts etc. that I have collected over the years. Things that are uplifting to me and things that just make me smile. I have wanted to get them all on a disc, for which that means I need to just start typing them out, and getting them into subject folders. So, while I am endeavoring to do just that, I will also share with you (hopefully daily) if I am to get this done in the near future, my box of quotes, stories, and thoughts. So... ENJOY while I sort this all out!

Becoming Self-Reliant

"We become self-reliant through obtaining sufficient knowledge, education, and literacy; by managing money and resources wisely, being spiritually strong, preparing for emergencies and eventualities; and by having physical health and social and emotional well-being." Julie B. Beck, Relief Society general president.

"Self-reliance is taking responsibility for our own spiritual and temporal welfare and for those whom Heavenly Father has entrusted to our care... Our ultimate goal is to become like the Savior, and that goal is enhanced by our unselfish service to others. Our ability to serve is increased or diminished by the level of our self-reliance." Elder Robert D. Hales

"The responsibility for each person's social, emotional, spiritual, physical, or economic well-being rests first upon himself, second upon his family, and third upon the Church if he is a faithful member thereof." President Spencer W. Kimball

Quotes

Last week's thought:

"Problems give us the ability to hang on and that ability changes who we are. When our character is permanently molded by the trials we are stronger and the end result is hope."
Dave Ramsey

This week's thought:

We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust our sails.
